1968 Ford Mustang
As you can see this car came to us needing quite an overhaul. The ultimate goal is to build a safe modern hot rod out of this car. We started with replacing the sheetmetal thoughout the car. The floors were replaced front to back. Both quarters were replaced, the tailpanel was replaced. We had to repair the rocker panels and install patches on the firewall. We fabricated subframe connectors and grafted them to the floor. We also fabricated a custom frame stiffner to bolt to the subframe connectors. We installed a Heidts front crossmember and suspension and used there rear kit for the mustang as well. We are using an 8.8 rear end out of an Explorer in the car. We ran bars in the front from the firewall to the frame to stiffen that end up. A 6 point roll cage has been installed to tie the rest of the car together. Brad has decided to install a 347 cu in small block Ford motor with a single turbo and a Tremec 5 speed to handle the power side of the build. Keep checking back as this build progresses. 1968 Ford Mustang Before 1968 Ford Mustang Sheetmetal work 1968 Ford Mustang More new Sheetmetal 1968 Ford mustang Heidts Front Crossmember and Suspension 1968 Ford Mustang Wheels on and Front Stiffner bar installed 1968 Ford Mustang Cage Shots 1968 Ford Mustang Blasted to bare steel 1968 Ford Mustang Primer Shots 1968 Mustang Turbo Plumbing 1968 Mustang Exhaust and under carriage 1968 Mustang Down on its wheels 1968 Mustang Custom Steel hood scoop
